About EuroCoon Cattery Massachusetts
Welcome to EuroCoon Cattery Massachusetts, a small, family-based cattery specializing in exceptional European Maine Coons. Our cats are raised in home as cherished members of our family and are never housed in cages. We are committed to responsible, ethical breeding practices and adhere to the standards and recommendations established by The International Cat Association (TICA).
The health and well-being of our cats are our highest priorities. All breeding cats undergo comprehensive genetic screening, including testing for more than 50 known hereditary conditions, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), among others. In addition to genetic testing, our breeding cats receive regular cardiac screening, including annual echocardiograms, as part of our commitment to monitoring their health throughout their breeding careers.
Ethical & Responsible Breeding
Ethical breeding, to us, means that the welfare of our cats always comes before producing a litter. We carefully plan each pairing with consideration for health, genetics, pedigree, temperament, structure, and the future of the Maine Coon breed. We are committed to responsible breeding practices, appropriate veterinary and reproductive care, premium nutrition, careful monitoring of our queens and kittens, and making breeding decisions based on what we believe is in the best interest of the individual cat—not simply what may produce the most desirable or valuable kittens. Our responsibility also extends beyond birth: we carefully raise and socialize every kitten, thoughtfully screen prospective homes, stand behind the kittens we produce, and remain available to our families throughout the life of their EuroCoon.
Our breeding program is built around carefully selected European bloodlines, many with championship pedigrees. Our goal is to preserve the characteristics that make the Maine Coon extraordinary while continually working toward healthy genetics, beautiful breed type, sound structure, and exceptional temperament.
Just as much thought goes into how our kittens are raised as the pairings that produce them. Our extensive socialization program begins early and continues throughout their time in our home. Kittens are raised as part of our everyday family life with extensive handling, affection, enrichment, grooming, household exposure, and individual attention. This helps prepare them to become affectionate, confident, adaptable, and well-adjusted companions.
Our kittens are often affectionately referred to as “Velcro kittens” because of their people-oriented personalities and the incredibly strong bonds they develop with their families. Producing that temperament is not accidental—it is the combination of carefully selected genetics, thoughtful breeding decisions, and countless hours spent raising and socializing each litter.
Because we prioritize quality and individual care rather than producing a high volume of kittens, availability is limited and we maintain a waiting list. We welcome inquiries and are always happy to provide additional information about EuroCoon, our breeding philosophy, upcoming litters, and the process of welcoming one of our kittens into your family.
